In today’s rapidly changing economy, where financial security and career adaptability are more crucial than ever, this program equips participants with the knowledge and skills to transform their ideas, skills, and expertise into meaningful lines of income. With your support, we can make this course accessible to more students and alumni, helping them unlock their entrepreneurial potential and thrive in an uncertain economic landscape.

In 2025, opportunities for entrepreneurship abound, from sole entrepreneurship to tech startups and freelance businesses. However, starting a side hustle can be daunting without the right guidance.

How to Start a Side Hustle is here to bridge that gap. This live, interactive course offers:

• A step-by-step process to validate ideas, define business models, and plan launches.
• Strategies for effective time, energy, and focus management.
• Techniques to overcome mindset challenges like fear, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome.

The Stu Clark Centre is sponsoring 20 spots in the program, making it free for the selected participants (current students, alumni, and staff of the University of Manitoba are eligible to apply). Participants will gain access to weekly live Zoom sessions, office hours for tailored support, and an actionable roadmap to launch their ventures.

• Week 1: The Side Hustle Portfolio System (Feb 18) Learn to manage time, energy, and focus while developing a vision statement and addressing mindset blockers.
• Week 2: Customer Discovery (Feb 25) Identify target customers and conduct market research to uncover opportunities.
• Week 3: Your Business Model (Mar 4) Define business models, pricing, and strategies to reach and engage customers.
• Week 4: Sales Strategies and Tactics (Mar 11) Explore sales models and pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
• Week 5: The Launch (Mar 18) Plan and execute a Minimum Viable Offer with minimal risk.
• Week 6: Backend Systems and Operations (Mar 25) Learn about business registration, financial tracking, and long-term growth planning.
