Love Care Share Bursary Fund

The Love Care Share Bursary Fund began in a classroom.

Inspired by the students of FMLY 1012: Introduction to Social Development, Dr. Oleksandr (Sasha) Kondrashov created this bursary to recognize a simple but powerful truth: acts of love, care, and generosity strengthen our communities.

Every day, University of Manitoba students balance their studies with responsibilities that often go unseen. They support family members and friends, contribute to their communities, volunteer their time, overcome personal challenges, and find ways to care for others while working toward their educational goals. These commitments can make the financial burden of pursuing a degree even greater.

The Love Care Share Bursary will provide financial assistance to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need, helping to remove barriers so they can continue their education and make meaningful contributions both on campus and beyond.

Its name reflects a practice explored together in the classroom: to love, to care, and to share. The bursary honours the compassion, resilience, and generosity that students bring to their everyday lives and affirms that these contributions matter.

This fund began with one class, but its impact can extend far beyond it. Every gift brings the bursary closer to becoming a lasting source of support for students who are striving to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

Should we not reach our fundraising goal, all gifts received will be designated to the University of Manitoba Bursary Fund, where they will continue to provide financial assistance to students with demonstrated financial need.
