Robert Byzio Prize in Archeology

Project Story

To honor the legacy of Robert Byzio (1975-2023)—a devoted husband, father, and passionate adventurer—the funds raised will establish the Robert Byzio Prize in Archeology, aimed at supporting undergraduate students in the field. As both a UM Alumni and faculty member, Robert’s profound love for archeology, coupled with his fervor for the outdoors and academic pursuits, left an indelible mark. Robert’s wide-ranging interests, from crafting flintknapping tools to exploring the intricate history of forests and mountains, epitomized his dedication to understanding the past. Your donation will offer crucial support to aspiring archeologists at UM, ensuring that Robert’s fervent desire to illuminate the mysteries of antiquity continues to shape a brighter future. Thank you for honoring his memory.
